Tequila Sunrise

« Tequila Sunrise » es una canción de 1973, escrita por Don Henley y Glenn Frey , y grabada por los Eagles . Fue el primer sencillo del segundo álbum de la banda, Desperado . Alcanzó el puesto 64 en el Billboard Hot 100 .

El cantante de música country Alan Jackson grabó una versión en el álbum tributo de 1993 Common Thread: The Songs of the Eagles . Alcanzó el puesto 64 en la lista Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks .

Antecedentes
Glenn Frey y Don Henley no escribieron canciones juntos para su álbum debut, Eagles y, después de terminar de grabar el álbum en Londres, decidieron que debían colaborar. En la primera semana de su asociación, escribieron "Tequila Sunrise" y " Desperado ". Según Frey, la canción se terminó bastante rápido. Dijo que estaba recostado en un sofá tocando la guitarra y se le ocurrió un riff de guitarra que describió como "un poco Roy Orbison , un poco mexicano". Se lo demostró a Henley y dijo: "Quizás deberíamos escribir algo sobre esto". El título se refiere a un cóctel llamado Tequila Sunrise que era popular en ese entonces.Henley dijo esto sobre la canción:

Creo que ese fue un título de Glenn. Creo que se mostró ambivalente al respecto porque pensó que era demasiado obvio o demasiado cliché debido a la bebida que era tan popular en ese momento.
